AMSOIL Signature Series offers exceptional protection against harmful deposits, viscosity increase and wear in the toughest conditions, helping you maximize the performance and longevity of your vehicle. Its ability to keep components clean despite increased stress helps sophisticated engine systems operate smoothly and demonstrate long life.

We formulated Signature Series to deliver next-level wear protection. In the API Sequence IV-A Engine Wear Test required for the API SN specification, Signature Series delivered 75 percent more wear protection than required.

In 2015, we expanded our Signature Series line by adding two new viscosity grades, SAE 0W-40 and SAE 5W-50.
SS is now available in seven different multi-grades: 0W-20, 5W-20, 0W-30, 5W-30, 10W-30, 0W40, and 5W-50.
Signature Series Top Tier Premium Motor Oil
AMSOIL Signature Series’ outstanding performance combined with its extended-drain capabilities offer a unique combination of quality and value not offered by other motor oils. Plus their extended-drain capabilities help protect the environment.

Signature Series solves the problem of extreme heat. We challenged Signature Series to the "GM Turbo Coking Test", which consists of 2,000 cycles of extreme heat soaks. An oil must limit the temperature change within the turbocharger to 13 percent or less to pass the test. Signature Series limited the temperature increase to only 3.6 percent, protecting the turbocharger 72 percent better than required by the GM dexos1® Gen 2 specification.

AMSOIL Premium Protection Synthetic Motor Oil

AMSOIL Premium Protection Motor Oil is ideal for high-mileage vehicles and high-stress vehicles subject to hot temperatures, heavy hauling, trailer pulling or off-road use. It can be used in both gasoline and diesel engines. The higher viscosity may also help reduce oil consumption if experiencing higher than normal oil usage rates.
High Zinc Premium Protection Motor Oil 10W-40High Zinc Premium Protection Motor Oil 20W-50

AMSOIL Premium Protection is guaranteed for up to 25,000 miles or 12 months drain intervals in diesel engines or 15,000 miles or 12 months drain intervals in gasoline engines.

It is ideal for applications where the extra protection of a higher-viscosity oil is desired and is excellent for motor homes and older vehicles. It also contains no friction modifiers, making it ideal for motorcycles, maintenance equipment and other wet-clutch transmission applications.

AMSOIL Premium Protection, with it's higher levels of ZDDP (Zinc Dialkyl Dithiophosphates)provides the extra anti-wear protection required by older engines with flat-tappet cams and high-tension valve springs.

What Is ZDDP?

ZDDP is the most commonly used anti-wear additive in motor oils. It contains both zinc and phosphorus components that work together to provide anti-wear protection and minimize lubricant breakdown.

Under heat and pressure, ZDDP forms a microscopic glassy, phosphate layer that fills in the peaks and valleys of surface roughness, improves lubrication and forms a sacrificial wear coating. The purpose of that coating is to create a barrier, so that it is the ZDDP coating that wears off in use and not the parent metal on the expensive components in your engine.

ZDDP also acts as a corrosion inhibitor and does exhibits mild extreme-pressure protection.

To comply with the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) tightened emissions legislation in the US, car manufacturers from around the world were forced to use technology to bring their cars in line with the law. As a result, catalytic converters were introduced in 1975. The problem is, catalytic converters happen to be very sensitive to the levels of ZDDP used in todays motor oils.

Now the problem is, excessive levels of ZDDP happen to be harmful/poisonous to catalytic converters. Generally, high levels of ZDDP result in volatile phosphorus being transferred from the combustion chamber to the catalytic converter. Phosphorus can blind over the catalytic reaction sites in the converter, making it less efficient in turning carbon monoxide (CO) into carbon dioxide (CO2).

The EPA mandates that catalytic converters operate as designed for more than 100,000 miles. As a result, phosphorus is limited for newer motor oil specs. The API and ILSAC set phosphorus limits to 0.10 percent weight (1000 ppm) in 1996, which was further reduced to 0.08 percent (800 ppm) in 2004, where it remains today.

However, it is important to note that many modern, quality, motor oil formulations use a new type of ZDDP that maintains the prior level of wear protection of the engine while reducing the impact on the emission system. This advanced zinc/phosphorus additive keeps higher levels of phosphorus in the motor oil where it protects the engine instead of poisoning the catalytic converter.

AMSOIL XL Series Synthetic Motor Oil offers the convenience of a twice-a-year oil change program combined with the peace of mind of outstanding engine protection and performance.

Its extended-drain boost technology delivers guaranteed oil change intervals of up to 20,000 km/12,000 miles (up from the previous 16,000 km/10,000 miles) or 12 months (up from the previous 6 months), under normal service, or longer when recommended in owner’s manuals or indicated by oil life monitoring systems.
XL Full Synthetic Boosted Protection
AMSOIL XL Series Oils not only save you time and money, they reduce waste oil due to fewer oil changes performed each year and maximize fuel economy, so you can help the environment and save on gas.

Some oils break down after extended periods of high- or low-temperature operation. These viscosity changes can lead to issues like excessive oil consumption, engine deposits, accelerated wear and difficult cold starts. XL Series provides 64 percent more protection against oil breakdown based on the GMOD engine test required for the GM dexos1® Gen2 specification.

Extended-drain boost technology offers the convenience of a twice-a-year oil change.

AMSOIL OE Series Synthetic Motor Oils are perfect for motorists who want the benefits of a high-quality AMSOIL synthetic motor oil - excellent wear protection, reliable extreme-temperature performance and maximum fuel economy - at a lower price. It is for mechanics and drivers seeking peace of mind protection and exceptional value in synthetic motor oil.
AMSOIL OE - Manufacturer Approved Advanced Engine Protection
AMSOIL OE Motor Oil effectively fights heat to control deposits, prevent thickening and limit oil consumption. Its uniform structure also keeps it fluid in low temperatures for easier cold starts. OE Synthetic Motor Oil is engineered to help keep your engine clean, reliable and running at peak performance.

OE Synthetic Motor Oil helps keep your engine clean, reliable and running at peak performance. It naturally resists chemical breakdown to help prevent deposits and its detergent and dispersant additives give OE excellent sludge- and deposit-fighting properties.

For those who want to stay with the manufacturer recommended oil change intervals

All our motor oils deliver 100 percent synthetic engine protection for advanced automotive technology, including turbochargers and direct injection. AMSOIL OE synthetic motor oil, for instance, provided 47 percent more wear protection than required by the GM dexos1 Gen 2 specification.

AMSOIL OE Synthetic Oils are specifically formulated for vehicle manufacturer-recommended oil change intervals, giving you confidence that your engine is protected even if your owner’s manual recommends oil changes well beyond the traditional 5,000 km (3,000 miles).

It’s also great for those not yet ready to extend their oil change intervals.

 ACHIEVED 100% PROTECTION AGAINST LSPI

Low-speed pre-ignition (LSPI) is the spontaneous ignition of the fuel/air mixture prior to spark-triggered ignition.

This phenomenon, also known as "super knock", is much more destructive than typical pre-ignition. It can destroy pistons and connecting rods and has become one of the latest challenges to arise in today’s advanced engines.

Original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), like GM, have addressed the issue by designing tests to determine a motor oil’s ability to prevent LSPI. All our oils achieved 100 percent protection against LSPI – zero occurrences were recorded after five consecutive tests required by the GM dexos1® Gen 2 specification.
